Regional Program Manager - Bay Area
Sam Bempong is a Bay Area-rooted producer, impact strategist, and community organizer whose work sits at the intersection of storytelling, advocacy, and cultural infrastructure. She serves as Regional Program Manager for the Bay Area at California for the Arts, where she works to strengthen the arts and culture ecosystem across the region.
As Co-Director of #MakeItBay, Sam co-led the effort to secure the Oakland Film Rebate Program - generating tens of millions in committed production spend within months of passage - and co-founded the Out of Zone Coalition, uniting 40+ organizations statewide to advance geographic equity in California's Film & TV Tax Credit Program.
Sam also serves as In-House Impact Producer for Dreams With Friends Inc., the production company of Rafael Casal and Daveed Diggs, where she leads community engagement strategies that ensure creative work drives real cultural and civic impact. She is the founder of Mindful Media, an impact consultancy that partners with artists, nonprofits, and production companies to align storytelling with sustainable social change.
Deeply rooted in the Bay Area, Sam is an active member of her community across civic, cultural, and faith-based spaces. She is committed to building a creative ecosystem where artists, communities, and local industries can thrive for generations to come.
