Communications Specialist
Amanda Sanchez is a designer, advocate, and the Co-Director of Capitol Creative Alliance, a nonprofit organization that connects and empowers the Sacramento creative community.
While her background is in graphic design, it’s her work at a creative organization that has reinforced the power of creating systems that serve people; the impact of data as a storytelling tool; that strategy is the foundation for every campaign; and that collaboration is paramount. Previously, she supported several other local nonprofit organizations with strategy, concept, and asset development for diverse campaigns. Her previous clients include Food Literacy Center, Studio T Arts & Entertainment, and Friends of Sacramento Arts.
Amanda graduated from Sierra College with an Associates in Applied Art & Design, and a Certificate in Web Design. She previously studied journalism and worked as a writer for Sacramento News and Review before transitioning to design. Her first love of writing allows her to tell impactful stories that support causes that she cares about. Her work explores the power that design has to affect change.
In 2024, she received a Certificate in Nonprofit Administration from the College of Continuing Education at Sacramento State.
Most importantly, Amanda is a mom to two incredible kids who remind her every day that there is always room for curiosity and exploration.
